    Hi  sanjeevkumar,

Do you have any application agents deployed and reporting to the APM cluster?  Application Agents would be websphere, weblogic, apache, .NET agents that are within context of an application?

Second, it might take some traffic through the applications to have APM locate the various applications and start reporting experience data.

Do you have any frontends reporting?

     In investigator, expand

SuperDomain - Custom Metric Host (Virtual) - Custom Metric Process (Virtual) - Custom Business Application Agent (Virtual) (SuperDomain) - By Frontend

    Is there any applications listed?

    Hi,

Installed agents in two machines one server and one desktop. Both agents are showing in Super Domain but application is not listed in below path.

    In investigator, expand

SuperDomain - Custom Metric Host (Virtual) - Custom Metric Process (Virtual) - Custom Business Application Agent (Virtual) (SuperDomain)

    Sanjeev,

Could you post a capture of the investigator with the servers and agents expanded?

    or

    1. Which application host are the agents installed in? (websphere, tomcat, weblogic, .NET, etc)

    2. Do you see a backend, frontend, servlet, JSP?

    3. If there are frontends, expand the frontend till you see the five base KPI (average response time, responses per interval, errors, stalls, concurrent).

    Example - WebSphere

       investigator - websphere agent

Make calls to the application on the server, enough so that the agent within the application hosting software can be detected.  If the application agent is installed and configured, you should see "Frontends"

    Sanjeev,

There are two different .NET agents, a PerfMonCollectorAgent and an Application Agent.  An application agent will appear when the .NET agent detects an application context within .NET.

The one you have installed is only detecting for the PerfMonCollectorAgent, which is like the environment performance agent.  This agent gathers system level metrics like disk, network, cpu and not application performance metrics.

Example of a .NET perfmon and application agent

In order for things to show up in frontends -> Team Center and also to be able to do an application trace, the agent has to be aware of an application(s) context (Frontends).

You mentioned "Installed agent in sim (symantec) server.", does that server host any end user applications?

If there are user applications on the server, are they .NET or Java?

There is a better description of the .NET agent in the docs:

Microsoft .NET Agent - CA Application Performance Management - 10.5 - CA Technologies Documentation

    Hope this helps,

    Billy

    Further to the above advice:

    1. You can first use the WebView URL to check for connected agents per Billy Cole's suggestions. See the WebView URL link from the Team Center menu or http://hostname:port:/#home is the direct link.

    2. If connected agents and metrics are confirmed in WebView try running a transaction trace session on 1 agnet to generate transaction traces - Team Center gets its data from agent Transaction Traces.

    Hope that helps

    Regards,

    Lynn
