Does discovery_server/scripts folder lua script help in correlation ?

If yes can give some example or cases where it helps ?

Currently I am using override eval_name.lua to just change the ip address, FQDN, upper case name to lower case short host name so it displays as intended in USM as short host name.

I am running UIM 8.5 , discovery_server and discovery agent version 8.5.

Can't find much in information in the link 8.51.

Is correlation dependent on the data in cm_device and cm_device_attribute collected and does the lua script change the cm_device_attribute values ?

The script did not modify cm_device table dev_attribute_value there is also a readme.txt in the scripts folder stating the lua scripts is used to override the values that are stored in the CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM database.
