    Hi,

We are using CA NFA 9.3.8. we have come across a scenario where customer has changed the source IP of net flow enable devices, causing multiple entry of devices in CA NFA console. e.g. same device are appearing with more than one ips, the moment they change the source ip of the netflow enable devices, the flow starts coming from the new ip and stops from the previous or old ip.

Is it possible if NFA can detect the source IP change and update with new ip, instead of showing multiple entry ?If not, is there any chance of enhancement in future release?

    Regards

    Rohit

Netflow data from devices only sends the source IP address of a device, not a name.

So when a new IP address is detected NFA Is going to create a new device for that new IP as there is nothing in the Netflow data to associate this device with the original device with the other IP address.

The names only come in afterwards when NFA SNMP polls the device.  The best thing to do is merge the interfaces from the older device into the newer device.

Changing this would require NFA to create the new device when it sees a new IP address, then SNMP polls it, then somehow automatically merge interfaces when there is another device with the same name.  This would be a major re-architecture in my opinion.
