  • 1.  Timesheet Adapter for CA PPM?

    Posted Nov 02, 2018 03:04 PM

Hello - We are considering using the "Timesheet Adapter for CA PPM" to pull time entry data from ServiceNow to on-prem CA PPM. Has anyone used this adapter and would you please share experience or insight in terms of installing/using it?

    Thank you,

    Jeff

    Hello Jeff,

You should look forward to using the new timesheet mobile application just released!

This mobile app requires CA PPM 15.5 with patch 1

The current CA Clarity Mobile Time Manager App will continue to be available for customers to use with older versions of CA PPM until further notice.

Thank you Kathryn for taking time to reply. We've looked into the Mobile App (may still consider it), however this question was really targeted specifically at the Adapter and any feedback folks may have who have used it to pull data from Service-Now into CA PPM.

    Kind Regards, Jeff

The Timesheet Adapter is really great for populating your CA PPM timesheet with information from another system(s). It does not submit or approve the timesheet, that would need to be done by the resource and resource manager. The one limitation of the adapter that I am aware is the adapter will not create adjustment timesheets.

If time will be adjusted in ServiceNow after it is sent to CA PPM and/or timesheets are submitted/reviewed/approved in ServiceNow, then you should look at using the Transaction Adapter for CA PPM. The actual hours will be capture in CA PPM, along with adjustments, for all investments, but there are no timesheets to submit, review, approve, post, or adjust. This does leverage the financial processing, so basic financials would need to be setup in CA PPM.
