Is there a way to show more meaningful names for the response test. See example. I have the ip sla owner and tag set but I can't seem to get that info in PC.

you can set an alias name for a response test using REST web service / scripting: Set Component Name Aliases - CA Performance Management - 3.6 - CA Technologies Documentation
CA PC ships with a script which uses this webservice. It allows to output the element ids to a file. Add your alias names to the file. Use same script with input file option to load the alias name settings from your file.
/opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/Tools/bin/update_alias_name.sh
