Automic Workload Automation

Hello,

i am newer to AE.

i installed trial version AE 12.2

all works fine but in developping with AWI i have this issue:

• login with UC/UC
• create new client 600
• copy user UC to user ADM_DEV/DEV  and move it to client 600 
• login with ADM_DEV/DEV
• create usergroup DEVLOPPERS and give it the necessary permissions
• create user JOE/DEV and move it in the usergroup DEVLOPPERS.
• login with JOE/DEV
• create FOLDER EXERCICES
• create LOGIN login1 to log to agent WIN01
• create JOBS JOBS.WIN1 to run on WIN1 and execute it with normal end.
• create other JOBS  and successefully execute.
• when i create a JOBP(Worflow) ; in, the design when i search for objects JOBS to insert them i cant see any object in any FOLDER.
• when i use explorer all the objects are shown ;i can create modify the existents and i can create all type of object.
• i test on other users and other clients without success
• when i use UC/UC on client 000 i can insert JOBS in JOBP but i cant execute.

my question what is missing to insert my JOBS in a new JOBP like in documentation.

From the screenshot... it look like your job is call:  JOBS.WIN.1  but when you are searching.. you are using JOB.WIN.1  (its missing the S in JOB)  so that would be logical why it does not show up on the list.

You mention that if you logged in client 0000 as UC/UC (that the default Admin user) which allow you to add job etc... But in other client you are not able to... which suspect maybe there is something wrong with your usergroup authorization/privilege.

If after using the correct job name is used for the search, and it still does not show up..  the user/usergroup you using in client 600 check what permission (authorization/privilege) was set for that usergroup & make sure that job object was created/exit in that client 600.  Or out of curiosity, if you do a global search at the top right of the AWI, does it come back with something?

Also client 000 is the administrative client and is not meant for job execution... that should be done on any client beside client zero..

to clarify :

i have the user MLD/DEV (not JOE/DEV) in the usergroup DEVELOPPEURS that

has the permissions in screeshots attached.

with this user and also for any other user I create I *cant see the objects

when designing a JOBP*.

I can see the objects when adding a new objects and can create folders and

objects in them and then see them in the EXPLORER view.

the  permission (authorization/privilege) of the usergroup in same as

documentation says for Devloppers  an i add some permission to see if it

works without success.

the issue is over after deleting C:\AUTOMIC\AutomationEngine\bin\indexCache\12.2\* and restarting UC service.

Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you over this weekend Mouldi, but I am glad you were able to get the issue fixed and thank you for letting us know of the resolution.

From the sound of it, since you had to delete that files... then I am guessing beside the 'add jobs/jobp search function' not working, that the system searches in general (the awi global search and other searches on those client) probably was not working during the time as well.

From my little experience I used till now this workaround two times to have

newer objects been found in searches (global or local)!.

Its seems that in some conditions the cache in not been refreshed and

unfortunately there is no button to refresh the cache in AWI but must

restart UC services.

Remarks: I found the workaround after reading a discussion in the forum

about files in cache directory despite that the object of discussion was

not about this issue.
