  • 1.  CA PPM New UI for different users

    Posted Nov 28, 2018 10:52 AM

    Hi,

Does any one have any experience configuring CA PPM new UI for projects. We have different set of users like PMO/PM/Tech lead etc and finding it difficult to create separate project views for single project, where each role will see different set of fields. And also based on their view/edit access should be able to act on the new UI.

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Regards

    Mridula

I do not think you can do that in the New UX. It is all or nothing based on rights.

Unlike the Classic UI where you can have conditional display based on eg user group membership.

You have to wait for later releases

Hi Mridula (and greetings of the season to you again urmas),

Try configuring your own set of two or three New UX blueprints, and then assign (drag-n-drop) Classic PPM project templates to each one. From the bottom-up in the image below, your projects will subscribe to their parent template, which in turn, subscribes to its parent blueprint.

You can also assign access rights (individually or by groups) and users can "get on the same page" by using the same shared saved view of various pages (best experienced in CA PPM 15.5.1).

Definitely start here: New User Experience: Configure Project Blueprints.

Hope this helps! You are on your way!

    Kind Regards,

    Damon

Please also remember that lots of OOTB attributes and none of your custom attributes are currently able to be displayed in the new UI.  As others have mentioned, a project is assigned a blueprint, it is currently not possible for individuals to be assigned different views in the new UI.
