Why are inventory subcategories missing in query and reporter ?

Inventory data is coming from all kind of OS types (ESX, Windows, Solaris, RedHat, SLES, SCCM import).

Some subcategories (e.g. "System Bios") can't be seen when trying to select fields in a query or in a report template:

This is now a 12.9 manager with AM agents from 12.5 up to 14.02.

We are setting up a 14.02 manager and intending to move the agents to it and we are of getting the same behaviour there as well.

Is this more a manager (12.9) or agent data problem ?

What is the logic behind the construction of this inventory tree ? In the DSM explorer I havn't seen any problems in the inventory tree presentation of a single computer.

    Regards

This happened due to inconsistent data in the table inv_generalinventory_tree.

Objects have been imported via asset converter. Somehow data of  an inventory group (e.g. "System Bios") was added twice. One flagged as "simple tree structure", the second as "row" (table field item_flag). This caused the field editor in reporter and query not to show the group "System Bios".

I have deleted these objects in DSM explorer and the missing groups now do show up.
