  • 1.  Enhancement to Wireless monnitoring in 10.2.3 or 10.3

    Hi All,

I had read a road map a while back that CA was going to also improve the Aruba controller modeling and reporting to be similar to the Cisco WLC manager. Did this ever come about? I thought it was scheduled for 10.2.3 or 10.3.

    TIA

    Hi Silvio,

I see the information you posted in the Links, but it does not give any setup or configuration information, or tell which models or version of OS's are supported. I've got Aruba'a modeled, but they don't show up in the WLC as a folder. Where can I get that information?

    Hi,

I did test an Aruba 7210 (version 6.4.4.16) with Spectrum 10.3. The controller was listed within WLC Manager

    Kind regards

Did you have to do anything special configuration wise in order for it to appear there?  Does it create pingable devices for the AP's like the Cisco WLC?

Nothing special configuration wise. Yes it did modele the APs under WLC (create wireless AP box checked in discovery/modeling options)

    Regards

    Patrick,

Silly question but did you run the Access Point Discovery in the Configuration subview of the WLCManager model?

Yes, we run it for the Cisco WLC's we have and it discovers them fine. But none of our aruba controllers appear under the WLC manager like the Cisco folder does.  Is there something on the Aruba controller that has to be turned on or enabled for Spectrum to detect them and put them under the WLC Manager?

    Patrick,

Could be missing something in the mib Spectrum is looking for?

If you have not already done so, I recommend opening a case with Spectrum Support and provide a simulation of a couple of your Aruba devices so they can model them in Spectrum and to reproduce. Then they can compare the modeling with one that works to determine the difference.
