  • 1.  CAUIM - Metric availability

We have a metric in CA-Ehealth that is called System availability, where a graph of the on availability of a system is displayed and the metric collection is based on the SysUptime collection. In CA-UIM can we have this same metric?
the need is to generate reports with a metric of availability of each server.

    Ehealth metric (fig).

There is a new default metric on every robot in version 9.02 called Power State which can generate a PRD graph like the below:

Not quite availability (not %)  but easy/quick to setup and quite close.

You can do something closer to availability with CABI once you have decided which QOS metric will translate to availability for your device

You can explain how I set this metric, because it is not standard. My CA-UIM application is in version 8.5.1 and I do not see metrics in the report.

It is only in the current version 9.02. The QOS is QOS_POWER_STATE

    Fabiano!

You can use the cdm probe .

The metric QOS_COMPUTER_UPTIME is gathered once an hour by the cdm probe.

How is computer uptime calculated by the cdm probe - CA Knowledge

Computer uptime, as reported by the cdm probe will be shown as cumulative, in minutes, since the robot was started.

If you are looking for Availability you might try using the net_connect probe to ping a device and then base your SLA on the maximum response time you consider the node to be 'available' versus unavailable.

Uptime is the number of seconds the computer has been running since reboot. It is not that useful for an SLA because it is a counter that continues to rise until a reboot occurs.

It is not possible to change the interval this metric is reported by the cdm probe.  It is hard-coded to once an hour.

As of hub 7.96 two new parameters can be added:

You can use ICMP testing to obtain availability and reachability metrics
