  • 1.  Default value is not reflected for an custom attribute

    Hi All,

We have an custom attribute with number data type , default  value 0.0% and   'populate null values with default field' unchecked.

When projects are created default values are not reflected [0.0%].

    Can any one please suggest?

    Thanks,

    Rashmi

    Hi Rashmi,

You say the 'populate null values with default field' checkbox is unchecked.

In order to populate the field with the default value at creation, this needs to be checked and the attribute placed on teh object creation view.

    Regards

How are you creating the projects, as for example, a project can be created by:

Approving an Idea to an Project

    Create Project from Template

    Create Project

Using a GEL or XOG script

How you are creating the Project will then determine what else needs to be checked.

Also, an 'attribute default' can be overwritten on the View - Properties - Property Field section of the Project Object - if you are just using 'the NEW button' on the Project List, you need to also check if part.

I have this same issue issue - changes to the default value are not reflected, and the system continuously uses the *original* default value set upon creation (instead of the changed value).  I have Override Default Value set as well, but no luck.
