    Hi Team

Does anyone has an explanation how to SOI 4.0 Sp2 calculate the percentage in the area graph in the Quality, Risk, Availability tabs ?

For examples this is the availability view for a service that has received the below DOWN events.

The question is how SOI calculated the percentage reported in the graph, considering the amount of time between the alarm created and alarm cleared.

    Best Regards

    Antonello

    Hi Antonello,

Availability is based on Service Health: If Health is Critical or Down, then the Service is considered to be “not available”. All lower criticalities (Normal, Minor, Major) are considered as “Available”, this is the default setting, which can be configured in SOIUI\Administration\Metric Definition Configuration.

Here is a simple explanation how the service availability is calculated:
Service Availability depends on the current state of a Service Health. If the service health is "Critical" or higher , lets say for 12 hours of last 24 hours then the Availability will show 50% Down for that period. If the
Service Health is "Critical" or higher for 6 hours of the last 24 hours then the availability will show 25% Down for that period etc. etc..

You'll find the "DashBoard Metrics" details in the SOI doc.

    Hi Ahmed

In the example you sent seems the percentage is calculated to 24 h, but I have situation like the following with the availability calculated in only one time interval because the downtime alert are effective for few minutes.

Have you an explanation of the availability pct value displayed?
