  • 1.  Monitor Active/Passive component in CA UIM 8.5.1

    Hi All,

We have integrated vmware architecture to CA UIM and there are Active Passive device cluster where only 1 IP is there for both the devices. These appliances are discovered in CA UIM through vmware probe and showing both the devices.

Since 1 device is active and it has the IP address at the time of failure Active device will give the alarms on power down or threshold violations. My question is where the Passive device too give the same alarms on power downs and threshold violation that has been configured to it.

Waiting your kind answer for this.

    Thanks

The best guess with technical point of view, alarms from the both nodes are expected to be segregated, because both models are different entity in CA UIM.

For VM entity in vmware environment, UIM vmware probe tracks UUID to uniquely identify, and different UUID is expected for each VM.

    Hi Yu,

How can i check each Active and Passive VMs have different UUIDs?

I can found different CPU, Memory and Disk usage graphs from these Active ans Passive cluster.

Please provide a feedback on this.

    thanks you
