Hello,
We have installed robots on each individual Solaris VM, but we are now considering installing a robot and the Zones probe on the Host (or Global zone).
We have a few questions regarding this:
- Will we gain a new perspective on processor, memory, queues, etc, by monitoring the VMs from the Zones probe? Since each robot (inside a VM) will only see its own resources, we thought the Zones probe might shows us the overall metrics on the host.
- How does the probe collect metrics? Will these QoS metrics collide with those collected by each VM's robot (cdm probe)?
- Do we have to add all the VMs (as resources) to each host?
Does anyone use Zones probe and also (simultaneously) have robots installed on each VM?
Thanks.
