  • 1.  RSP Probe Micro level permission required at Windows and Unix Servers

    Team,

For one of the customer we are implementing agentless monitoring solution using RSP probe. As a part of security customer is not allowing the full admin permission on Windows server and root permission on the Unix servers.

So please can you let us know what micro level permission required and on which commands to execute and collect all the monitoring parameters supported by RSP probe.

    Regards - Ripple

Below is what the docs say ..looks like you might need the admin rights

    Question:

What are the minimum rights required to collect data using the rsp probe?

    Answer:

    Following rights are required:

    • Windows: Use Domain admin user or a local admin name on the computer.
    • UNIX: root.

Note: You must add the credentials for all the servers that you want to monitor. These credentials are required while creating monitoring profiles. For more information, see Adding a profile.

    • Use sudo: For UNIX/Linux systems, select the Use sudo checkbox to allow the specified user to work with root user privileges. By default, this checkbox is not selected. You must not remove the credentials.

Note: Non-admin access for the rsp probe is NOT officially supported as the account must be able to access hosts, processes, services and events.

Yes, as per document required admin/root permission but customer is not ready for the same.
