  • 1.  Where can we find Database Schema documentation for CDA tables?

    Posted Apr 15, 2019 05:27 PM

Is there documentation available for database schema with description for CDA database tables similar to what available for Automation Engine database?

Something like this --> AE Database Scheme for Version 12.2 (Step 020)

    Thanks.

    Hi Vlad_N

We do not provide for CDA these types of information (e.g. DB schema).

    Hi Vlad_N,

do have a look at CDA's Reporting capabilities?

You can define reports that offer a stable layout.

    Docu: Integrating > Reporting

    Thank you for information.

We already utilize some of the ARA/CDA Reporting capabilities that you have linked above.

"CDA System Properties Reference" section is usefull to figure out how some objects relate.

    https://docs.automic.com/documentation/webhelp/english/ARA/12.2/DOCU/12.2/CDA%20Guides/Default.htm#CDA/SystemProperties/SystemProperties.htm%3FTocPath%3DReference%7CCDA%2520System%2520Properties%2520Reference%7C_____0

Often we have to generate reports that have data from ARA/CDA and AE DBs tables combined.

For example, count of CDA/ARA Executions where there is some specific string within report (RPT) files for the JOBS that related to that CDA Execution.

We don't have yet Analytics configured, so this is probably next logical step to get better integrated reports.

    Hi Vlad,

    • The CDA DB has a flat DB structure. This is not a DB intended to be leveraged by 3rd party applications. There is no guarantee that the entities in the DB are consistent as they change over time.
CDA entities can be consolidated via CLI and posted in a table see :

    https://docs.automic.com/documentation/webhelp/english/ARA/12.2/DOCU/12.2/CDA%20Guides/Default.htm#CDA/Admin/Admin_Reporting.htm%3FTocPath%3DIntegrating%7CReporting%7C_____0
    • Exporting this data to a reporting DB would be the way to go. You could set up a : PostgreSQL, MS SQL DB or an Oracle DB to collect the data.

    Kind Regards,
    Paul
