    How can I use this Client Automation functionality "Periodic Inventory Refresh"?

    not sure what you are asking.  if you have an agent it runs inventory once a day if configured OOB.  If you mean run a full inventory vs. a delta inventory if you are on sp1 or above it does that OOB once a week.

    Periodic Inventory Refresh: A new configuration option is introduced that can
    be used to specify the number of inventory collection cycles before an agent
    collects and transports full inventory of the target system, instead of the
    delta inventory. This helps in reconciling the inventory data, should any delta
    inventory updates be lost.
