How to disable Audible Alarm Notifications on the OneClick client?
Description: By default audible alarm notifications are enabled on the OneClick client. When a new alarm is received a voice will let the user know a new alarm has occurred and what the severity is. Here are the steps to disable this feature if it is not required by the user or user group.
Solution: To disable audible alarm notifications:
In the OneClick Console window select the View menu and open the Preferences submenu.
- In the Preferences window:
- Expand the Alarms Tab Folder
- Expand the Alarm Notification Tab Folder
- Highlight the New Alarm Sound Option
- Uncheck the alarm notifications you do not wish to receive by alarm severity.
- Once the settings have been modified select Apply and then OK.
- Now the Audible Alarms will be limited to the alarm severities that were left as checked under the New Alarm Sound Option Window.
Lastly, if you are a Spectrum Administrator and need to turn off audible alerts for a group of users do the following:
- Open the Users tab in OneClick
- Right Click on the User Group that requires the change
- Select Set Preferences
- Expand the Alarms Tab Folder
- Expand the Alarm Notification Tab Folder
- Highlight the New Alarm Sound Option
- Uncheck the alarm notifications you do not wish the group to receive by alarm severity.
- Once the settings have been modified select Apply and then OK.
- Now the Audible Alarms will be limited to the alarm severities that were left as checked under the New Alarm Sound Option Window for the selected group.
