How to disable Audible Alarm Notifications on the OneClick client?

Description: By default audible alarm notifications are enabled on the OneClick client. When a new alarm is received a voice will let the user know a new alarm has occurred and what the severity is. Here are the steps to disable this feature if it is not required by the user or user group.

Solution: To disable audible alarm notifications:

In the OneClick Console window select the View menu and open the Preferences submenu.

    - In the Preferences window:
    - Expand the Alarms Tab Folder
    - Expand the Alarm Notification Tab Folder
    - Highlight the New Alarm Sound Option
    - Uncheck the alarm notifications you do not wish to receive by alarm severity.
    - Once the settings have been modified select Apply and then OK.
    - Now the Audible Alarms will be limited to the alarm severities that were left as checked under the New Alarm Sound Option Window.

Lastly, if you are a Spectrum Administrator and need to turn off audible alerts for a group of users do the following:

    - Open the Users tab in OneClick
    - Right Click on the User Group that requires the change
    - Select Set Preferences
    - Expand the Alarms Tab Folder
    - Expand the Alarm Notification Tab Folder
    - Highlight the New Alarm Sound Option
    - Uncheck the alarm notifications you do not wish the group to receive by alarm severity.
    - Once the settings have been modified select Apply and then OK.
    - Now the Audible Alarms will be limited to the alarm severities that were left as checked under the New Alarm Sound Option Window for the selected group.

    Hi ThiBorges,

Do you have a software that can play the siren? If the software provides executable that can play the siren, we can utilize Spectrum AlarmNotifier SetScript to invoke the executable. So when the alarm occurred, SetScript called the executable and played the siren.

    Regards

    Hi ThiBorges,

You are right. Normally AlarmNotifier is running on SpectroSERVER machine, so idealy the sound software API you will invoke from the SetScript should have capability to remotely trigger the sound on the client PC.

There is another option though but I don't really recommend, i.e. to run AlarmNotifier on the OneClick client PC (How to Pack Up CA Spectrum Utilities and Move Them to Another Computer - CA Spectrum - 10.0 - CA Wiki) , provided the OneClick client PC is running same Operating System with SpectroSERVER machine.

Unfortunately the default Spectrum alarm sound on OneClick client cannot be customized.
