CA Workload Automation Restart Option for z/OS Schedulers Tuesday Tip by Alisa Reynolds, Sr. Support Engineer for Sep 6, 2011

Dispatching priorities are now controlled with the Workload Manager (WLM) portion
of the operating system usually through the assigning of service classes to started
tasks. It is important to assign the CA 11 DBAS sufficient dispatching priority to
perform its tasks under the most extreme system load conditions. CA Datacom must
also be at a high enough priority to service requests from DBAS in a timely manner.
We recommend that you assign DBAS a dispatching priority at least as high as your primary
Job Entry Subsystem (JES). Consult with your performance analyst to place the CA 11 and
the Datacom/AD MUF started tasks in the same service class as the Job Entry Subsystem (JES).
