CA recommends customers retain copies of their license files as they may need to reapply them after an service pack or hotfix has been applied. The license file comes with a text file describing the license restrictions, however occasionally a DLP Administrator may wish to check the license restrictions enforced on their CMS.

To enable a DLP administrator to ascertain the license values on a CMS follow the instructions below:

1. On CMS, open a command prompt and run the following command:

cd %wgninstalldir%\system

This should change the working directory to the DLP installation folder (ie C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\CA DLP\system)

2. Now run the following command

wgnpol export MachineRestriction -c -f c:\licensefile.xml

3. This will create a file called "licensefile.xml" which will be located in the root of c: drive.

Opening the file in Windows notepad or similar text editor will reveal the license specification.
