We are on Clarity 8.1.3. Recently, some of the users were trying to install Clarity Microsoft Project Interface and ran into the "Internal Error 2739". When I googled for that error, some had suggested to re-register jscript.dll and vbscript.dll. We had suggested the users do the same and still they are unable to complete the install.

Most of these users are using Windows 7. Is there any specific client OS version restriction? How about the version of Java that the client machines should use?

You should check the Clarity PAS (prior to v12.1.2) or the Release Notes (12.1.2+) for supported versions*.

The PAS for 8.1.3 does not include Win7 for example. (Win7 supported from 12.1 onwards I think).

(* - This does not mean that it will not work on certain desktops/browser versions etc, just that you might have problems since that configuration has not been certified/tested by CA)

From CA Clarity 8.1 SP3 Product Architecture Stack (PAS)

    Client Operating System
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional: Service Pack 4
Microsoft Windows XP Professional: Service Pack 2 or higher
    Microsoft Windows Vista, all editions

    Client Applications
    Microsoft Project 2000-2007, all editions
Java 5 Runtime Environment (required for Open Workbench, Clarity Microsoft Project interface, and XOG Client): 1.5.0_10 or higher patch level

Not supported does not mean not working.
Somewhere there was a post that to be W7 compatible the installation software has to know how to handle the UAC, which the components of 81.3 apparently did not.
Some user have installed MSP on W7 and don't have problems, though.
