Duplicate databases.

It's been a looooooooooong time since I created a mirror database within a single CV.

I have a CV that mirrors production database files (same size, format, etc.) One of the development groups needs their own copy of the production areas in that same CV.

I know about creating new segments that mirror the "production" segments, with different DD's and DSN's.

My question: Can I share buffers with both of these segments (accessed by using different DB names)? Or, do I need to duplicate the buffers as well. (There should be minimal activity against both of these DB's. - a couple of thousand a day + some large batch processing against the "new" DB.)

Any ideas from those of you that do this frequently?
