VDB question

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Feb 15, 2005
As part of upgrading IDMS to R16, we will have to upgrade ASG's VDB
(Virtual DataBase) from 5.0.5 to 5.1.2. Does anyone know if we can use
our existing global definition file (VSAM), or if we have to create a
new one?

Re: Print space oddities
"Joe,

Interesting idea, but if that were the case, the job would abend in the
same place every time, right?

Thanks all for your various thoughts and suggestions. I'll take several
of them, tweak the jobstream and see how things go over the next few weeks.

Buz,
Let me see if I get this straight. The weekly job has some DD statements
in it (for the database areas) and it bombs. Your job has no DD statements
and runs clean.
So, it's obvious the DMCL has the files coded for dynamic allocation and
those are the files you are using. Since a DD statement will take presedent
over the DMCL, is it possible the weekly job is using the wrong DD
statements? Maybe the correct files, just coded on the wrong DD
statement(s)?
