Re: IDMS V12.0 & Z/OS 1.4
" Just to make a further comment on compatability. When I was investigating
whether IDMS 12.x would run under Z/OS, my management placed a call to our
CA rep and set up a phone meeting (our testing wasn't good enough for them).
During that meeting, I asked the CA tech rep (I forget who that was) if,
in his memory, he could ever remember a time when there was a problem with
IDMS when upgrading the operating system. In my memory, I could not
remember any problems in the 15+ years since I've been doing the system
work. Going back all the way to the IDMS 5.x days, neither could he recall
any instance where IDMS needed to be modified in order to facilitate an
operating system upgrade.
Based on it's history, and if you do a little serious testing just to
verify, I would imagine you could run just about any post IDMS 5.x release
on Z/OS, and probably beyond.
Maybe even release 5?

Re: DNS Send/Receive Failure
"Fellow listers:

This was a mixed page group issue. It was actually getting a bind
failure. I did not have the option turned on in the Dbtable.

It was right in front of me, but then again, the obvious always is...

Thanks for all of your input. I will have that in mind if I run across
this again, now that the original issue is fixed.
