Securing IDMS dictionaries
"All right, I will ask a question. Our IDMS security adminstrator
retired, and I am trying to learn how internal security (SECBY=INTERNAL)
works. I have spent a thrilling week reading the security manual, and
am having a hard time understanding the part about securing the
dictionaries. The manual lists the steps to secure a dictionary, but
what exactly does it mean to say that a dictionary is or is not
""secure""?

Re: Securing IDMS dictionaries
"I don't believe that the IDD security has changed significantly since
10.2 days. I was referring to dictionary and SQL catalog database
access (RESTYPE=DB) which the manual recommending turning on to ""secure
the dictionary"". What does this buy us, above and beyond the previously
existing IDD security?
