Hi Onni,

I've tried the ACCEPT call, but when this is called, the
program to
goes in WAIT state.
I'm programming using COBOL option under VSE/ESA, the function ACCEPT is
sopported
under this environment.

Thank you,

Hi,

The ACCEPT call of Socket API should return the IP address as a part
of
sockaddr argument.

Hi ALL,

I'm programming a TCP/IP generic listener server in COBOL. It
=
works pretty well,
but I need to get the remote host Ip address, and I don't know how get

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm in VSE/ESA V2R6 and IDMS R16 SP3

Thanks,

It isn't possible, because looking at the Performance Monitor the
program is
in WAIT state and the ECB isTCP/IP.

Could the cobol compiler be somehow ignoring the TCP/IP libs and
compiling the ACCEPT as the old Cobol command which accepted a parm from
the console? Since none is given, it would wait until the outstanding
reply is anwered.

Similar -- but not exact -- issue, trying to use ADS Listener . . .
Cal Dominique gave me these APARS that you might look at . . .

We do have several APARs that address some known problems with
TCP/IP
or Socket processing. The first step might be to apply any of these
which
apply to your operating system and release. The list of available APARs
is:
QO62566 QO62565 QO52918 QO52622 QO51990 QO51989
QO51551 QO51416 QO50728
Please review these, apply any that match your operating system and
release,
and re-test.
