CAS Question Temporary Solution

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Jun 6, 2006
Hello All:

We were unable to figure out how to do this so we used DMLO and Stored a
new
occurrence of the CAS Application record with the new DBNAME and it is
working fine for now.

The real question here is how do you add a new CAS Application record, we
could not find any screen to do this, we found MODAPPL and SUMAPPL but no
ADDAPPL?

Re: Parallel Unload/Reload
"Edward,

We also use EZREORG here and it works very well.

Our problem is that the unload and reload part could take days. So if R16
SP4 provides an answer, as mentioned by Chris, we will look into that for
sure.

Now it would be nice to have documentation about this new feature.

Subject: Re: [IDMS-L] Parallel Unload/Reload

We use TACT EZReorg, for large unloads, Thus we only have at most 2
hours of an outage, for the final sync up after unload/reload is
completed. NOTE: we have unloaded larger area's then your 150,000,000
records with this software.

Go to IUA: http://www.iuassn.org/english/
Then LINKS, and TACT (then find utilities for IDMS EZ-REORG.

Hello all,

A few years ago, I saw messages on this list about using parallel jobs
for
unloads and reloads.

For a new project, we are facing a situation where we may have to
unload and
reload an area with 150,000,000 records connected to a system owned
index
(MA set).

We have FAST ACCESS and it's good but not that good.

Can somebody provide feedback on the methodology for parallel unloads
and
reloads discussed here a few years ago ?

TIA,
