We do have a lot of heavy update activity also. I don't have the read
vs
write figures to hand, but I have just look on one of the systems and
measured a database file getting 1000 writes in 1 min - around 16 per
sec - and we are currently at the end of the online day (17:40 here)
before the batch has started. We are a very busy shop.
