New features?
"I have a dim memory of reading about the following new features for R15
or R16, which I cannot now find in the documentation. Can anyone tell
me if these are real, or just wishful thinking on my part?

- Automatic conversion of COBOL 'DISPLAY' to WTL for online programs.

- For IDMS/SQL, a dummy table that can be used when selecting
non-database items such as 'current timestamp'.

Re: New features?
"Kay,
The first item is true. An online COBOL program display will write to the IDMS log. I'm not sure about the second item

Hi List,

We have two clients on 14.1 service packs. We are currently on z/OS 1.4
but going to 1.7 on a new mainframe.
Is anyone running 14.1 under z/OS 1.7?

Thanks in advance

Re: New features?
"The following works fine if that's what you're after:

--
select curdate() as date, curtime() as time ,
dayname(now()) as DoW , monthname(now()) as Month,
now() as timestamp, current timezone as offset
from system.schema where name = 'SYSTEM';
--
select current date as date, current time as time,
dayname(now()) as DoW , monthname(now()) as month,
now() as timestamp, current timezone as offset
from system.schema where name = 'SYSTEM';
