[SPAM-high]Z/OS 1.7 aborts

Hello All:

When upgrading your OS to Z/OS 1.7 did anyone experience S0C4 aborts in
any
batch jobs that they were executing?

For example IEBGENER tape to tape copies, or DFSMSDSS backups.

If you experienced this issue can you determine what the resolution was?

Your experience and help are greatly appreciated.

Re: [SPAM-high]Z/OS 1.7 aborts
"I am told:
The z/OS 1.7 has a new parm in IECIOSxx called ""CAPTUCB PROTECT=YES/NO""
with the default being YES. This change puts a 'captured UCB' into read
only storage and any attempt to write to it will cause a 0C4. The
problem we had in CA1 was corrected by APAR QO72318, but it could be
caused by any application program that would do an update to a 'captured
UCB'.
