ESD file handling

Hi:

It's dumb question time. SupportConnect seems to be having a problem
and need to get up some information. Does anyone know the DCB
specification you should use when allocating space for an ESD file to
z/OS? These are the product files we download from the web site. Also,
there is a utility to convert them to tape. Can anyone tell me where to
download the latest version? We currently have the old RESTORES
utility.

Before you say it, yes, I know we are three years out of date on Common
Services. We stay pretty far back for QA purposes.

Any help you can give will be appreciated>

IDMS/SQL Default index on dbkey
"When a table has been created there is always a default index on dbkey.
Who has some experience with this default index? When can this index be dropped, or when not?

Thanks,

Re: ESD file handling
"Steve,

The ""AFTER DOWNLOADING, SEE UNPACKAGING YOUR DOWNLOADED CA PRODUCTS"" link
was not working on the web site all weekend through yesterday. There was
maintenance activity scheduled on the weekend. I am guessing that it didn't
go exactly as planned. People who live in a glass houses shouldn't throw
stones so there is no need to duck over at CA. Others responded as well and
we got our problem solved. For the record, the web site is now working
correctly in this regard.

Thanks for your help and for the help offered by others.

Long live the list!
