Journal buffer waits

According to report PMIRPT01, one of our production CV's shows a lot of
wait time for ""journal buffer"". Not ""journal I/O"" however. What does
this mean? According to the journal offload report, most journal pages
are 90-100% full, if that is any help.

To further confuse things, report PMIRPT01 shows 105,245 journal buffer
waits for the same time period that ""DCMT DISPLAY STA SYSTEM"" shows 15
buffer waits. Which is correct?

Re: Journal buffer waits
"Thanks for the explaination, Pete.
Is there anything that can be done (at the system level) to reduce these
waits? If I understand you correctly, it doesn't appear that adding
more journal buffers would help.
