Is anyone else in this fix?

I want to move from IDMS 14.1 to IDMS R16 but there have been several
hundred APARS since SP4 came out last summer. I really don't relish the
thought of doing a massive APAR accept - the amount of time would be
considerable and the chances of an error during the process is
non-linear (albeit, probably geometric rather than exponential). I have
been able to get management to hold off on the R16 install until SP5
comes along but it continues to get harder to convince them.

I have contacted CA several times and the SP5 issue dates continue
marching toward the elusive end of the rainbow (end of March then April
then May - I haven't tried recently but maybe end of June is a good
bet?).

Any advice from those that are waiting for SP5?

We are heavy on DC-COBOL.
We went from nothing working to everything working on Z/OS 1.8 / IDMS
R16.2 - SP4 after applying TC23407.

Also, I am probably slow to learning what everybody else probably already
knows...
But, I found a couple weeks ago I don't need to link CEEUOPT with RHDCLEFE.

I can put this in my startup and it seems to work:
//CEEOPTS DD DISP=SHR,DSN=WEGTECH.PARMLIB(CEEUIDMS)

CEEUIDMS is any old name and contains all the options for CEEUOPT listed out
(in non-macro convention).

Pretty slick if you ask me.

I see that there is a test fix for LE/370 programs when IBM apar PK28112
has been applied. Did someone on the list get this raised or is this
part of running IDMS under z/OS 1.9 pre-release testing by CA? We are
about to go z/OS 1.8 and I like to be prepared for problems. It raises a
T03C abend.

Yes.

The technical term is that it's ""pooched"".

I have had to open problems under the products I can see, not under the
products where they belong.
For example, I don't see IDMS-DB anymore.

I don't open issues with Support Connect anymore.
I live with the problem.
