Support(dis)Connect Problems

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Jun 7, 2007
It seems that SupportConnect has been getting even worse than usual.

Trying to download QO88478 this morning, I was unable to find the PTF.
I couldn't even get my products listed on the ""published solutions -
search"" page.

I called the SupportConnect phone support number and got a couple of
minutes of strange beeping before giving up.

From recent posts to this list, I get the impression this sort of
thing is getting to be a common phenomenon.

If so, is anyone at CA in the U.S. aware of this type of problem ?

Re: Test Fix for LE/370 Programs running with IBM apar PK28112
"Chris -

Sorry for the late reply....
I haven't been reading my EMAIL for the last week or so.

The DC-COBOL I was having problems with do not do anything with any flavor
of SORT.

I don't know much at all about the IBM APARS or what release of Z/OS they
applied to or what they were supposed to fix.
I just know I had MAJOR problems where most DC-COBOL would not work, even
after recompile with the latest COBOL compiler.

I have seen no negative side-effects from applying TC23407 and every single
DC-COBOL program started working again after it was applied.

I highly to recommend to everyone to apply if upgrading your Z/OS and / or
IDMS 16.2.

Thanks.
Jon

Jon,

The IBM fix seemed to imply problems when calling Syncsort of DFSort
from COBOL but your message implies otherwise.

Thanks

Chris
