[IDMSVENDOR-L] Calling IDMSCOM

Hi all,

In preparation for our Data Warehouse project, I'm using the Journal
analyzer to re-assemble my records of interest into non-spanned records.
(Thank you DBMS and CA!).=20

Now for my problem - Compressed records. Compressed records show up in
the journal as, well, compressed records. Because we're not using IDMS
to get the record, IDMSDCOM is not being called - naturally.

Has anyone written COBOL code to call IDMSDCOM to de-compress compressed
records? If so, are you willing to share? Please?

Thanks much,

Dick

VTAM Logon and LTE auto task
"Hello All:

I have a client that has an LTE auto task tied to every terminal on the
VTAMLINE, it invokes an application that I don't have access to and even when I
do have access to it you cannot get to the ENTER NEXT TASK CODE.

I would like to sign on to IDMS using VTAM and avoid this LTE auto task by
going to a PTE and LTE pair that does not have the LTE auto task? Does anyone
know if this can be accomplished other than defining a new VTAM line and
Application id?

I already have access to this CV through CICS and TSO, but we are having a
problem and I can't get in using CICS or TSO as they both use the UCFLINE and
this line is hung up.

Re: Today's episode - IDD seeing double . . .
"I have to agree with Tommy, it is most likely a buffer problem. I think
there is a DCMT V AR *** PURGE command that will flush the buffers, just
don't do it on a load area.
