Geoff,

Since ACCEPT SYSVERSION doesn't work in batch, I assume it won't work in
CICS either. You might consider an OOAK record that identifies the
environment.

Good luck,

Hi All,

Some of our programmers need to be able to detect
whether a job is running in the development or production environment
from a CICS IDMS-DC program.

They are using 'ACCEPT SYSVERSION INTO WS----' and
then test the CV number in the returned halfword PIC S9(4) COMP.

Unfortunately the ACCEPT always returned error status
0063 (invalid parameter list). They have tried other forms of accept
(i.e USER ID, and ACCEPT FROM) with the same result.

Has anyone any idea which parameter is at fault?

Alternatively can anyone suggest another method to
determine the environment ?

Many thanks in advance,
Geoff

"Can the batch program call an ADS mapless dialog for the ACCEPT
SYSVERSION? A question about batch calling ADS may have come up around
another issue and I don't recall the outcome.
