Re:z/OS 1.8 R15.0 SP5: T03C in DC-COBOL

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Nov 19, 2007
a developer in our shop asserts that he recently started ""out of the
blue""
getting T03C abends. I saw fixes available tor LE Cobol running DC, but
i think these are COBOLII - and i seem to recall T03C abends long before
LE was introduced - can anyone dig back into their memory and relate
what a T03C abend indicates?

The Legendary Lost Issue of IUA Connections - Winter 2005
"IUA Connections Winter 2005 is a ""bumper"" issue - lots of content, and a
wide range of subjects. Unfortunately it was also the last for a long
time, and because of the timing Brock Shaw got as far as sending copies
out to the contributors - but the issue was never ""published"".

Many thanks to Kay Rozeboom who pointed that out, and thanks too for
providing me with a copy. Her e-mail explained why I had received so
many blank looks when I claimed that the last issue before this year's
had been in 2005 - as the last published issue was actually back in fall
2004.

In any event - when I received my copy in 2005 I thought it had been
released and forwarded it to my OZIUA mailing list (which includes sites
in SE Asia) - so this part of the world has seen the issue but most of
North America and Europe has never had a chance - until now that is.

I am pleased to announce that the Winter 2005 edition of IUA Connections
is now available for download at the IUA web site:

UK IDMS User group meeting - 4th December
"For Attention of IDMS Users in, or near , the UK.

Have you registered for the UK IDMS event on 4th December?
If you haven't, simply send an email to steve.cannon@ca.com.
(You'll need to register for security and logistical purposes.)

It's being held at the Solutions Centre in CA European Headquarters at
Ditton Park.
Details and directions can be found here:
http://ca.com/gb/contact/offices.aspx

There's plenty of good reasons to make the time to attend:
Take a look at the schedule at www.ukiua.org for more complete details.

The highlights are the variety of informative and educational sessions.
From which you will get useful information which should help in your
work on IDMS.
* Gary Cherlet will be advising how to debug ADS programs.
* There'll be an IDMS release 17 preview given by Judy Dillman.
* We are proud to welcome Greg Beedy, the Vice President of CA
Mainframe Systems to speak.
* There's a couple of sessions on SOA with IDMS, including one
from a special guest speaker Tom Hebert from OBJex. Don't miss his
session which describes the new product and where you will learn how to
obtain a special , and free, IDMS user group version of the product
""OBJex XML Query""

So, along with the usual IDMS information, such as the IDMS Status and
Plans and an open forum, there will be something for everyone who uses
and/or works on IDMS.

By the way, please pass on this email to anyone who works with IDMS,
after all, we haven't got contact details of everyone who uses IDMS in
the UK.

Don't delay, it's next week. Don't miss out!
Simply register by sending an email to steve.cannon@ca.com. It'll cost
you nothing at all.
Keep up to date with the schedule at www.ukiua.org

You may receive this invitation from a variety of sources. I make no
apology as I wish to ensure that as many people are informed as
possible.

Regards

Steve Rundle
UKIUA Chair

PS: Lunch will also be provided in the world class restaurant on site.

Did I see something on this list regarding the ability to de-compile the

If something like this available with any of the list members?

If so, can I get some help on this?

User storage question
"ProgramA does a ""GET STORAGE KEEP LONG USER"" then a ""DC RETURN NEXT TASK
CODE TASKB"". TASKB is supposed to execute PROGRAMB, which retrieves
the storage, then frees it. But PROGRAMB is disabled. The task abends
with the following messages on the log:

TASK:TASKB; LINK TO PROGRAMB FAILED--PROGRAM DISABLED""
TASK:TASKB PROG: ABENDED WITH CODE D002

The associated LTE no longer shows as active at this point. (It doesn't
appear on PMRM or OPER at all.) Did the user storage get cleaned up, or
is it still hanging around somewhere?

Re: User storage question
"Kay,

You should be able to use DCMT D ALL ST POOL and DCMT D AC ST POOL x to
see if your storage is still there. I remember doing this for a link to
IDMSOCF I believe.
