FW: causergroups Follow-up -stats

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Dec 13, 2007
I have tabulated some additional statistics....

In the states, California and Illinois are tied for the most number of
causergroup=20 signups at 10 per state. Get more IDMS people at your
shop to register so you=20 have bragging rights for the most signups !

However, world wide the leader is CANADA ! with 16 people signed=20
up on the causergroups site. The Cannucks win again...... =20

I thought I would disseminate some statistics that may or may not be of
use..

We now have 181 people signed up on the causergroups site representing;

18 Countries

122 Separate Companies or Government agencies

In my previous emails I did not mention that signing up on the
causergroups site is not limited to CA IDMS professions on the listserv.

If you have other DBA's, application staff (here or abroad), or various
pets (just kidding) they are welcome to signup as well.

Cheers,
Terry Schwartz

SSANAME3 software question
"Hello,

Is anybody running SSANAME3 version 2.7 in an IDMS CV? If so, can you
share your SYSGEN definitions and any experiences in getting it working?

or just a mention of the anniversary? or not even that?

IUA Connections 2008
"Just as you were starting to wonder how you would survive the winter
doldrums - here's an opportunity to keep busy and do something for the
IDMS User community - I won't even mention the steak knives!

That's right - I'm back - your worst winter nightmare - the ""IUA
Connections man from down under"" suffering through our summer.

I'm looking for people who believe that they have world beating systems,
or who have done ""interesting"" work from a technology point of view, or
who are advocates of IDMS and related tools, or who are simply mad keen
to tell us about something you've done that you are proud of! Give it to
me, give it to us - the entire IDMS community via an article in IUA
Connections.

If you'd like to have your say - I'd love to have your contributions by
mid-February for a March 2008 release. I've been reading about the
horrible winter storms you American ""listers"" have been having in the
mid-west and eastern states - if you can't get out because of the ice,
snow and cold - then here is a terrific project for you to work on.
Personally - I just got out of the 28c pool, the balmy evening air
temperature is 27c - and I feel good! What kind of idiot am I for
working on IUA Connections?

Believe me - the number of positive and enthusiastic comments that came
out at the workshop in Herndon really pumped me up with enthusiasm to do
the next issue. Our Connections team did so well the last time that I am
sure we can do it again. Thanks in advance - looking forward to your
contributions, thoughts and feedback - cheers - Gary

QO93022 and QO93036
"Hi,

These hypers fix problems in QO90028 (16 SP2 upwards) and QO90027 (16
SP0 and SP1). They talk about abends in RHDCLODR. Anyone report the
problem to CA and how do we test them out?

Thanks

Re: QO93022 and QO93036
"Chris..
The problem was reported by one client.
TESTING can be done if you want as follows:

Run a batch job to list the directory of the loadlib.
Use the output and make each line read LOOK DATES=pgmname
and add that as a CLIST called LOADEM in the CV (use IDD) dictionary.
Make the XA reentrant pool small in the sysgen and after the
system comes up, modify the sysgen to add a little more
storage to the XA reentrant pool. Then do VARY SYSGEN REFRESH ALL
Then, enter:
CLIST LOADEM at the Enter Next Task Code prompt.
This should cause the problem.
Then apply apar and try again.
Problem should not happen then.
