question

the PROG-xx information is correct ONLY if the dialog was generated in
production - if a dialog load module was copied from ""somehwhere else"" -
there will be no correlation between the dictionary contents and the
load module contents

Re: Diagnostics and Symbol tables - another question
"Kay,
It can be determine from the load module if diagnostics are on. It just
is not easily done. At least not that I know of. If you are trying to
determine if symbol tables are on, you can look at a single field in the
load header that shows the symbol table length. If it is zero, you do
not have a symbol table. If it is greater than zero you have a symbol
table. For diagnostics you would have to read into the load module and
find the FDB records and determine if they are formatted or not. If they
are formatted then you have diagnostics on. I personally do not know the
difference between formatted FDB entries and unformatted FDB entries.
:-)

My way around this was to run an ADSORPT looking at all dialogs with a
parm of SEARCH=3DLOADAREA. I send this output to disk and read it in =
using a REXX EXEC that will list only those dialogs that have SYMBOL
TABLE =3D YES or DIAGNOSTICS =3D YES.=20
