Re:Re: [IDMS-L] Turn diagnostics off in batch mode?

After looking at the manual (amazing what you can learn that way), it
appears that the MODIFY command only works when compiling from source.
Does this match others' experience?

We normally compile from load on production, which is where I want to
use this. Do you think that compiling from source will change any
options other than the ones specified, i.e. diagnostics and symbol
table?

"You cannot use GENERATE FROM LOAD for this purpose, you need GENERATE FROM
SOURCE.
I think MOD was meant as short for MODULE, but would be incorrect in either
case, MODIFY is not part of the syntax for the SYMBOL TABLE or the
DIAGNOSTICS TABLE.

GENERATE works, but the MANUALs use COMPILE, so I wouldn't rely on future
releases to support GENERATE.

COMPILE FROM SOURCE DIALOG IS dialog-name-qualifier
SYMBOL TABLE IS NO
DIAGNOSTIC TABLE IS NO.

dialog-name-qualifier is either a dialog name or dialog name mask enclosed
in parentheses(e.g. (TPDIALOG) or (TP******))
or the word ALL.

Both COMPILE and GENERATE work fine. We have been using them for many
years.

It is MOD or MODIFY that fails. I don't know how to turn off the
diagnostics and symbol table without putting a modify somewhere in the
command.
