IDMS printing

IDMS Printing

Looking for alternative for doing printing from IDMS.

Want to print to printers in an NJE environment, using an LU name of
NJE.LUXXXXX.

Was wondering if there was way of putting the output from IDMS into a
JES2 queue.

This would require reading the IDMS output Q. and then deleting the
entry when it was

routed to JES2.

This would allow me to send to the NJE or local printer when it comes
online, because I

have a routine that retries sending the output every 3 minutes from the
JES2 Q.

By using JES2 I can put a name in the dest field of -nje.luxxxx, which
would get it to the

correct printer.

Bottom line is want I want to print to NJE printers without have then
being online in

IDMS.

I am using BARR software to do the NJE printing.

JES2 Messages in IDMS after Upgrade to z/OS 1.8
"Hi,

We moved up to z/OS 1.8 yesterday and we now get a number of $HASP125
and $HASP100 messages whenever a job gets submitted by the internal
reader from the CV. A lot of you are on 1.8 now so were you seeing these
messages too and how have you handled them?

Examples: -

$HASP125 ****** INTRDR SKIPPING FOR JOB CARD FROM JOB09829 ******

$HASP100 yyyyyyyy ON INTRDR JCL-REQUEST FROM JOB09829
******

Thanks

Chris - we ran into this - it seems that the problem (for us) was that we
did NOT have nobanner specified for the LTE/PTE associated with the line -
older versions of z/OS sisnt care - but z/OS 1.8 does and reports the
banner lines as invalid JCL

"Those message moved from JES to that of the address space performing the
submission.

Some can be eliminated by

15

++USERMOD (TC82267)
DESC ($HASP125 WHEN JCL Written to INTRDR for z/OS 1.7).

16

++APAR (QO91157)
DESC ($HASP125 When JCL written to Internal Reader)

I rather like the messages, makes it easier to find out what was
submitted.

Re: JES2 Messages in IDMS after Upgrade to z/OS 1.8
"There is a fix. Problem occurs because some flavors of the DC #PRINT
macro (and whatever is embedded in ADSO,Cobol) put out an extra blank
card at the end of the submission to INTRDR. ZOS (starting at 1.7) now
issues a 'SKIPPING FOR JOBCARD' instead of ignoring it as before.
The fix I received is TC82267, which I think is good thru R160SP5. James
Coleman put it out.
