Producing SVC Dump

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Jun 20, 2008
Does anyone know an easy way to produce and SVC dump where the system
stays up?

I am doing testing and need to produce this type of dump. Cancelling the
system will not work, nor will just creating a 'system abend' where the
system comes down. Those scenarios cause the dump output to go to
SYSMDUMP and I need the dump to go to SYS1.DUMP datasets.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Producing SVC Dump
"Yes, simple at ""Enter Next Task Code"" type:

LOCKMON SNAP SYSTEM

If system snaps are turned on, an SVC Dump request will be issued.
