Producing SVC Dump

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Jun 20, 2008
Does anyone know an easy way to produce and SVC dump where the system
stays up?

I am doing testing and need to produce this type of dump. Cancelling the
system will not work, nor will just creating a 'system abend' where the
system comes down. Those scenarios cause the dump output to go to
SYSMDUMP and I need the dump to go to SYS1.DUMP datasets.

Thanks in advance for your help.

"Will,
This is the instructions I received:

in SDSF LOG on the command line:

/DUMP COMM=3D(something meaningful to you) EX: /DUMP COMM=3D(IDMSCML3 =
HANG)

you should then have an outstanding reply number come back to you, take
that number and say:

/nn,JOBNAME=3D(regionname) EX: /73,JOBNAME=3D(IDMSCML3)
