Question on IBM Tivoli Decision Support - IDMS component
"Question:
We are currently running IDMS Performance Monitor and creating SMF data.

#PMOPT
AMACT=YES
AMSMF=YES

We also run the IBM Tivoli Decision Support software. In the Tivoli
documentation, it states that there is an IDMS component.

Does anyone have examples of how to interface IDMS with Tivoli?

Cache Memory
"=20
Is anyone using file cache in memory for database files? How much memory
are you using? My region card is 300M for CV. It looks like the amount
of memory available is the MEMLIMIT parm in the SYS1.PARMLIB for Z/os
1.9, I'm running 16.0 SP4.

Thanks,

Re: Cache Memory
"Steve, we have been using dataspaces under IDMS R15 and R16 for some
time now. We use dataspaces for multiple DB files with a total size of
about 3.6 Gb.

We started relatively small and added files over time. We watched
paging at each increment and kept adding files until paging started to
be an issue.

The REGION parameter for this system is the time-honored ""0M"" (zero M).

As long as you have lots of real memory to back up the virtual storage
used, it works well.
