Re: DBHASH and USERSTAT

Jim,

We had a problem with program SHOWUSER (from Boxes & Arrows, author
Michael A. Newman Southwest Airlines) when we migrate to R12, but no
problem going to R16. But as Dan pointed out, you have to reassemble
it. But I presumed that is what you meant when you said relinked.

What kinda problems are you having with them?

We migrated from 15.0. DBHASH takes a user password and hashes it
before either storing it on a database or comparing it to one that has
already been stored. USERSTAT looks to be a combination of the DCUF
Show User All and DCUF Show Profile commands. =3D20

Hi Jim,

First off, what release did you migrate from? and secondly, could you
give a brief explanation of what each program does, as we might have
called them differently.

Thanks,

We just migrated to R16 and one of our customers are having problems
with 2 of their assembler programs. They are named DBHASH (which I
think came from the old Boxes and Arrow magazine) and the other is a
user program invoked by the task code USERSTAT which we think came
from
one of the CA User Conferences. Is anyone familiar with and/or using
either of these in a R16 environment? If so, did you have to do
anything
other than relink them when you migrated?

Re: DBHASH and USERSTAT
"The USERSTAT program does nothing but display it's header lines. It
returns no user detail information. When DBHASH hashes a password and
compares it to the value in the database they never match. I am told
this only happens in ADS/O ...... the same code runs in CICS with no
problem. We will run the ADS dialog through ADS Alive this afternoon
and verify the values being passed are correct.
