just a reminder ....

in release 17 - the DMCL always gets loaded into a ""dynamc"" 2nd pool 255
- separate and apart from the ""sysgenned"" 1st pool 255 - this ""dynamic""
2nd poll 255 will always be the size of the DMCL (no bigger, no smaller) and will appear to all commands to be 100% full (so yes, 2 pool 255s will
show)

Thanks to those who responded.

We are running Release 15.0

I think Bill Allen hit the nail on the head in his off list email. We don't have an XA PROGRAM POOL defined (I have no idea why not) which is where it sounds like the DMCL is supposed to reside.
We do have an XA REENTRANT PROGRAM POOL.

Anyway, I bumped the size of XA STROAGE POOL 255 from 5100 to 10000. The first 2 GETSTG's were asking for about 5100k and if the DMCL is in there, it 's full at startup.

More will be revealed. And I'll let you guys know.

Thanks

"kay -in the early days<?> of 17.0 i thought i had checked this out, and it
appears to match, but either I really hadn't or something has changed

at our site - the dynamic pool 255 is holding 10772K at address 25C0B000
but look reveals Runtime Size---> DA628 (894,504 Bytes) (873K) and the
Compiled Size---> 8A714 (567,060 Bytes) (which matches the loadlib)

a DCMT DISPLAY ACTIVE STORAGE 255 assets the entire pool to be used and

DCMT D MEM MAP reveals the DMCL to start 490 bytes into the dynamic 255

maybe someone from CA is monitoring and can shed light??

Chris,

Do you know what is meant by ""the size of the DMCL""? The size of the
addit=
ional pool 255 on our test R17 CV does not match any of the following:
the=
DMCL load module size, the size of the DMCL buffers, or the value
specifie=
d for CV_STARTUP_XA_REGION_MB.
