the screens actually have the instructions imbedded - not quite a
no-brainer - but should be easy enough to execute

Thanks Chris:

By the way we are running IDMS 16.0 SP7 on Z/OS 1.10. The CV was hung up
and
I couldn't get in. The usual suspect; there was a batch job holding over
250,000 locks and it filled pool 255. When I get to these screens do I
have
to type something to abort a specific task?

[IDMSVENDOR-L] PREALERT

Hello All:

I do not use PREALERT at all and tonight I had to cancel a task because it
consumed all of storage pool 255 and I could not figure out how to do it
with RREALERT so I answered the outstanding reply and did a DCMT VARY
ACTIVE
TASK TERMINATE TASKID ######.

Can I cancel an IDMS TASK from PREALERT and how can I do it on the
PREALERT
Screens?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sub area occupancy stats
"Hi all,
Thanks to everyone that has helped me with this. I shall try the
DB-ANALYZER solution first. Unfortunately my company is reluctant to
migrate to release17 and I don't think release16 offers the advantage
that release17 offers in regard to this problem. However, I shall try.

Many many thanks to you all, this forum is second to none and I shall be
forever grateful to you all for the help you have all offered. If the
microsoft SQLServer community had the same enthusiasm and commitment to
helping other users then my life would be so much easier and a great
deal happier. Long live IDMS!
Many thanks again,
