"My experience is that the need for large tables has to do with searches, to=
talling, sub-totalling and other such functions. These functions, and more =
are provided by SQL. Have you considered defining a temporary Table in SQL =
- you can then process it using SQL with the full functionality available t=
o SQL - then ""throw the table away""! This puts the onus of Scratch and Stor=
age management on to SQL - and lets you use an industry standard language t=
o do the processing. The Table could be used from either ADS and/or Cobol.
