Is anyone else having trouble accessing the IDMS-L archives?

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Jul 27, 2010
I can't get to them at all from the IUA home page.

When I use the URL below, I get inconsistent search results, usually no results.

Question about user exit #1 - signon exit
"I have a couple of questions about using user exit #1, the signon exit, wit=
h UCF connections:

1) The documentation for this exit states that ""This exit is called af=
ter the signon routine (RHDCSNON) has verified the user identifier and pass=
word and has built a signon element (SON)."" Will the exit be called for a=
utomatic signon done by UCF connections such as UCFBTCH? (The call counter=
for RHDCSNON is not incremented in these cases, but the user is signed on =
anyway.)

2) Would the answer to question #1 change depending on whether resourc=
e type SGON in the RHDCSRTT table is secured or not?

DYNAM vs NODYNAM
"Hi everyone,

Like most shops, we have a multiple CVs environment. Dialogs are not
defined within the SYSGENs. In several of the environments, when a
dialog is loaded, a null PDE is used to define the program, and it ends
up with the attribute DYNAM. In 2 of the environments, when a dialog
is loaded, a null PDE is used, but the program ends up with the
attribute NODYNAM. I can't figure out what is causing the dialogs to
be defined as DYNAM in some environments, and NODYNAM in others.

Of course, I'm reporting this as I would need to have the dialogs come
up as DYNAM in one of the environments where they're showing up as NODYNAM.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Re: Question about CA - HYPER NOTIFICATION - RO20143 IDMS - OS getmain problem
"We are currently running 16.0 SP4 on z/OS 1.11 (skipped 1.10) with no
problems (and without RO20143).

I looked up OA27291, and the net result seemed to be that a change in
VSM was introduced in z/OS 1.10, it caused some people some problems,
and as of z/OS 1.11 the behavior of VSM is controlled by the DIAGxx
parameter ""VSM USEZOSV1R9RULES"". The default in z/OS 1.11 is ""VSM
USEZOSV1R9RULES(YES)"",
which essentially negates the change made to VSM in 1.10 - we are taking
the default.
