Re:RE: Re: problem with resource categories

Discussion created by ca.portal.admin on Oct 26, 2010
I took the cowardly way out and did the new copy at 5 a.m. this morning. The resource categories are now acting as they should.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. I never would have guessed that varying new copy on RHDCSRTT would force in the changes to the resource categories. I hope you can excuse my slowness in understanding what you were telling me!

Kay, technically, you are correct on point #2 below. The security manual
currently says ""To display user information, you must hold SYSADMIN
privilege.""

The 'information' is misleading. The statement will say the following in
new documentation:

To display privileges granted to a user you must hold SYSADMIN
privilege.

What this means is that only users who have SYSADMIN security can
display the Privileges Granted to a user.

So if you are specifically granted DISPLAY on one or more users you will
be able to see basic info about the user, but only if you are SYSADMIN
will you see privileges granted to the displayed user. So the
'information' in the documentation meant the privileges granted to a
user but was obviously not clear on that point. It is clarified for the
next release.
